Team Selection/Allocation Process

  • BLUF: To explain the process by which Teams are selected and/or allocated within each Division of Elkton Little League
  • Teams are allocated from the oldest divisions down to the youngest divisions
  • This is done because the older divisions are done via draft and if participants need to be moved down for safety or age reasons we do not have to redo rosters at the younger levels
  • The THREE (3) older divisions (JR/SR, Majors, Minor A) are all done via draft

  •  After the top 3 divisions are drafted, we then begin the younger divisions (Minor B and T-Ball)
  • We do accept requests for coaches and teammates at the younger divisions (Minor B and T-Ball) BUT we can NOT guarantee that team
    •  EXAMPLE: 14 kids request to play together and/or for a certain coach, we can not allocate all 14 to a single team but we will do our best to accommodate all requests
  • Requests MUST be sent to the division VP PRIOR to team allocation (First week of March)
  • The VP of each division will separate the kids based on proximity/requests/returners etc to make the teams as fair and balanced as they can
  • Once kids are placed and or allocated to a team, the website will be updated with the rosters and you will be notified via e-mail of the team and manager information
  • After team allocation/placement, communication on a team basis will become the sole responsibility of the manager, all league pertinent information will come from the league.
