Raffle Information

After speaking with a bunch of the Elkton Little League family over the past few seasons we have gotten a lot of feedback on the confusion and annoyance of having two different raffles and the trouble of selling twice.  We want you guys to know that we hear you and we are always looking for ways to make the experience better for our community.  We wanted to find a way that still allowed parents the ability to sell tickets for their children to "play for free" as well as allowing the league to sponsor a fundraiser to help enhance the complex and equipment and other reoccurring needs and we believe we have found a solution.  Please hang in there as we are finalizing dates and logistics but wanted to get the information out now so you guys are aware of the changes.  

So, this season we have consolidated the two raffles into ONE.  Please stick with me as I explain the new raffle experience.  I know there will be questions so please feel free to reply to this email or reach out to Bryan Hughes or a current board member and they will help in any way they can.

• HIGH LEVEL DESCRIPTION
  • Pink tickets
    • Stubs AND MONEY come back to your coach
  • GRAY tickets
    • Stubs come back to your coach
    • Money stays in your pocket

The single raffle this season will be the crab raffle and here is how it will work:

• Each child registered will get a set of 10 raffle tickets that are pink
  • The tickets will be handed out close to opening day
  • A date will be set as to when tickets and stubs are due as well as the drawing
    • May 9 - Money and Stubs are due
    • May 11 - Drawing
• Each participant will sell those 10 tickets for $5 a piece and return the $50 and ticket stubs to their manager. 
  • The first pack of tickets is the equivalent of the League fundraiser from years past
• Once an individual returns the "pink" stubs and money they can be allocated a second/third/fourth/etc set of 10 tickets that are gray 
  • The families will then sell the "gray" tickets and keep the money and ONLY return the ticket stubs
  • The "gray" tickets is the equivalent of the "play for free" raffle from years past where the money will be kept by the family to help offset registration cost.  

Because of the single raffle we have added two prizes to the crab raffle. The prizes for the raffle are as follows:

• GRAND PRIZE:
  • Bushel of crabs, shrimp, beverage card
• SECOND PRIZE:
  • $100 Gift Card (location TBD)
• THIRD PRIZE:
  • $50 Gift card (location TBD)
